Latin American Finals Wrap Up

Just one point separated us from the final victory at the Latin America Finals, but we can’t lose the confidence in our team because of this. We know that those finals are the beginning of a very talented team that have a lot of space to grow and will be able to compete in equal conditions to the other teams attending the CGS World Finals from 25th of November ‘till 15th December.



Counter-Strike Source
Rio Sinistro faced the hometown Mexico Furia and showed again their skill and experience versus the knowledge of the game. First side as Terrorists they granted just 2 rounds due to their lack of strategy but as CT the team dominated completely the game scoring 8-1 to close the game in 10-8. That one round they made tokes our victory in the Region Finals.

The team that we picked up is one of the top teams of the world in the previews version of Counter Strike – the 1.6. They were invited for the tournament 10 days before the competition and were in Europe for a tournament that finished a week before our Combine. They did not even practice one map and has no strategies. They won all the games they played. Think about these talented players after 2 months of intense practice.

The Mexico Furia strategy was clear to try to crash with Lavu but did not workout. First, because immediately after the crash attempt Legitracer assumed the 1st stand. Second because Lavu recover from the crash and got the positions from their opponents and got to 1st stand before the end of the firs lap.
The 2 players that we pick seem to be at an international level already. They were perfect in the final race getting first and second spots and are potentially one of the strongest games of Rio Sinistro.

Dead or Alive 4
Men's: Snakejorge had difficult to confront El Divino – second of the world - but managed to score 1 round and close in 1-5.

Women's: Alma could make a very tied first round, but the their opponent was more experienced and was elected MVP of the hole tournament and we had to deal with this 0-5.

The players that we pick are husband and wife and give us a tremendous opportunity for practicing. Alma practiced just a month before the competition and with the necessary training has an enormous potential to grow. Snakejorge was explaining they practice 1 hour per day and that is nothing in professional terms. Their opponents were very strong proven it with tied matches against experienced Region 1 players.

FIFA 07
Was a very tense game and we dominated completely in the firs round. The tactic of our opponent to talk during the role game was neutralized and he was kind of lost. In the second half we were surprised by a rapid action of Mexico Furia player and got in disadvantage and we lose the control of the game. But fighting until the end we were glad to score in the last minute, tying the game in 1-1 and going to penalty shoots. Kind of lottery, we lost 2-3.

We got the champion of the Combine. He is able at the moment to play against their opponents in equal conditions and that is what happened in the Latin America FIFA finals. We expect he grows a lot after the practice program for the World Finals.
